[RUMOR] Halo: The Master Chief Collection Arrives This Year

by

Today has proven to be a great day for Halo and Xbox fanboys. Coming hot off the heels of this morning’s announcement of Halo 5: Guardians, it now seems that we might have more clarity on what the 2014 Halo game will be and it’s not just a remake of Halo 2.

Originally reported by Engadget, the new game is titled Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The game will release later this year on the Xbox One and will contain Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4.Not much else has been said on the game at this time.

Microsoft has made no statement on the game and it is unlikely that they will. If the rumor is to be believed, it is likely that it will not be confirmed until the Xbox Media Briefing at E3 on June 9. It would however make sense that these four titles would be the ones remade considering they all are the games to contain the main protagonist, Master Chief. This would also surely give 343 Industries more time to focus on the development of Halo 5 without worrying about fans getting antsy for it’s release.

Right now, this story is just a rumor but it seems to be quite a strong one. Hopefully we hear more in the coming weeks on whether or not we will end up seeing all of these great games remade in next-gen splendor. Be sure to keep checking SpawnFirst for more Halo news in the coming weeks!
