Battlefield 4 Banned In China
Battlefield 4 is banned in China due to the latest China Rising DLC. The Chinese government feels that it’s a “new form of cultural invasion,” and that the DLC “smears China’s image” – therefore, the game in its entirety was banned from being released. The Chinese translation of the title (ZhanDi4) is censored on the country’s biggest social media site, Weibo.com.
The confirmation comes from a China native who attempted to upload the trailer for the game’s DLC on the Chinese version of YouTube, Youku a few months back and found today that the video was blocked. The video being taken down is what sparked the investigation to reveal the aforementioned results. Despite the ban, people in China are still finding ways to play the game regardless, so no one is missing out.
