Multiple Assassin’s Creed Games Per Year “Definitely A Possibility”
With Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, the PS Vita entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, seeing an HD release on consoles, a big question has arisen; will there be multiple Assassin’s Creed entries per year. The answer is “it’s definitely a possibility.”
Ubisoft Sofia producer Momchil Valentinov stated, “Definitely [multiple releases a year] is a possibility. That being said, I don’t believe Assassin’s Creed: Liberation and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are in competition as both games provide different experiences and I’m sure our fans enjoy both.” Considering the fact that Liberation and Black Flag are two separate storylines, there is the possibility that they just might end up being competing titles. Granted the two stories don’t intertwine, franchise fans will want to play them all.
The possibility of more than one Assassin’s Creed game releasing per year is exciting, but then it raises two questions: Are they milking Assassin’s Creed too much, too quickly? Secondly, will it kill the franchise faster than a single annual release will?
