Although the Xbox version of Minecraft has been downloadable since last year, this year a boxed retail version of the game will be sold.  The boxed edition is to be released June 4th in the US, while in the UK it has been announce that it will be released on June 28th. Since being released on the Xbox, Microsoft has seen great success in the series with over six million copies of the downloadable game sold.

Activision finally announced Call of Duty: Ghosts. With this announcement Activision also released a live-action teaser trailer, which honestly shows little-to-nothing. At the end of the trailer ‘see it live at the new generation Xbox reveal’ is titled on the screen.  This reveal will take place on 5.21.13, so expect your first look at Ghosts then, possibly alongside or close to the new Xbox’s announcement.

MaddenNFL25You Wii U users may be enjoying the latest update, but bad news for football fans. Madden NFL 25 will not be releasing on the Wii U.  However, an EA representative stated that there will be ‘delivering Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future’. Though, at this moment in time they have ‘no further announcements’.

LinktothePast2

According Link to a Cnet interview, Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 will have the ‘Dark World’, like the original Link to the Past. With little else announced about the game, there are high expectations from Zelda enthusiasts. Most fans have had aspirations for a remake for many years and a few weeks ago their dreams became reality. Although the game has been announced, it is uncertain what the game will be titled as it hasn’t been officially announced yet.

LastofUsLogoIf you want to play or purchase The Last of Us, which is available on June 14th, stay off the internet. Details of the game’s storyline and ending have been spoiled on websites such as 4Chan, GameFAQ’s etc. If you have witnessed the spoilers or know the ending, don’t spoil it for the rest of us, please.

Microsoft has announced they will be holding their usual pre-E3 press conference. This press conference will take place on Monday, June 10th at 8:45 AM. Sony has yet to declare whether they will be having a press conference or not, but with the PlayStation 4 on its way, we can all presume it will be happening. Alongside the Microsoft announcement, Nintendo has cancelled their press conference. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said ‘We decided not to host a large-scale presentation’. In other words, they don’t want to be shown up by both Microsoft and Sony at E3. Well played Nintendo.
