PS4 Is The Best Console Launch To Date: 2.1 Million Sold In 2 Weeks

With the PS4 having sold 1 million units in North America alone in the first 24 hours of launch, in just two weeks, the console has sold 2.1 million units after it launched in Europe. These sales make it the best console launch in history according to DFC Intelligence. These sales figures place it above the Nintendo Wii’s launch sales of 1.6 million units in its first two weeks in both Japan and North America, even outbeating its own PS2 launch sales with hit 1.4 million units sold at launch in Japan in March 2000.

With such success, DFC Intelligence has predicted that the PS4 will be the leading console this generation and it seems well on its way to proving that prediction correct. However, they don’t believe that the PS4 will surpass Wii or PS2 overall sales but, for this generation, there’s a big possibility the PS4 will reign supreme.
