SteamOS Will Integrate Your Music Soon
SteamOS and Big Picture Mode will soon feature an interactive music overlay, finally allowing Big Picture gamers to control their custom music playlists on the fly, without having to use a separate program.
Currently in a closed beta available to members of the Steam Music Community Group, the overlay allows users to easily select the computer directory which houses their custom playlists, allowing for the brisk sorting, shuffling and listening of tracks, directly from the steam overlay.
Valve are promising that community feedback is dictating the future of Steam Music, and while it’s not exactly a new idea, I must say that I’m super excited to be able to control my music volume without the “will it crash?” dice-roll that comes with every ALT-TAB.
