The Last Of Us Multiplayer And Single Player DLC Announced
Season pass holders will be pleased to know that Naughty Dog has revealed today via the PlayStation Blog that the DLC for The Last Of Us will be multiplayer maps and a “story-driven single player DLC.” The multiplayer map pack is called the Abandoned Territories which includes the Suburbs map, which kicks up a random dust storm (Remind anyone else of the Desert Village map from the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception multiplayer?); the Bus Depo map, which is an urban environment with giraffes in the background; the Hometown map, which is set at night allowing for some stealth play; and finally the Bookstore map, which features a 2 story layout which adds a “ highly unique dose of vertical gameplay.” This map pack releases on October 15.
Little mention was made as to what the single-player experience would be. We do know, however, that it will be the second batch of DLC available to players and season pass holders in the December-January timeframe. All that was said on the matter was that the DLC features a new character (which they had a long casting process for) and has “strong ties” into the single-player campaign of The Last Of Us.
Season pass holders also receive 60 new character customization head pieces for free. It features a range of different styles to fit anyone’s taste and uniqueness.
The third batch of DLC to be released will again be multiplayer based and will arrive in the first half of 2014. More will be revealed on this as time passes but, for now, it’s good to know that those who purchased the season pass will come to see some use out of it soon.
