Xbox One and PS4 Release Dates Leaked
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release dates have been leaked from the retailer “Toys’R’Us”. According to Toys’R’Us, the Xbox One will be available in the UK on November 29th and the PlayStation 4 will release two weeks later on December 13th.
Toys’R’Us were contacted to comment on the leak and asked whether these dates were placeholder or actual release dates. A Toys’R’Us representative said: “I can confirm this information has been given direct from our suppliers and is accurate”.
Microsoft retorted the Toys’R’Us representative’s statement later, saying:
“We have announced that Xbox One will launch this November, but have not shared any further details. It’s common practice for retailers to use placeholder dates for pre-order items without an official launch date. Please stay tuned to news.xbox.com, where we share the latest official details about all things Xbox One.”
So, for the moment it remains uncertain when the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 will release. Although these dates may be the real deal, Microsoft’s statement not withstanding, they could also be estimated dates chosen by the retailer itself. All we know for sure is the Xbox One is releasing some time in November, and the PlayStation 4 will be available before this year is out.
Hopefully at Gamescom (which is later on this month), Microsoft and Sony will reveal the release dates for both consoles, and finally help us have an idea on which exact dates our wallets will be ravished.
