Knack Review
A light hearted Pixar-type story with some colorful visuals, surprisingly strategic combat, family friendly co-op, fun boss battles, and a charming soundtrack
More variation in level design would have been nice, could have benefited by more move-sets, and some moments come off repetitive.
Knack is a strong launch title entry for the PlayStation 4. With some fairly impressive graphics, fun gameplay, a wonderful soundtrack, and that playing-through-a-Pixar-movie edge, Knack sounds perfect in just about every way. What holds it back from becoming an instant classic are some repetitive move-sets and environments, and some lost potential to make the gameplay deeper and more satisfying. While it's no Ratchet & Clank or Jak & Daxter, and if the issues are addressed, Knack has a strong enough base to take it off into sequel stardom.
